According to Article (12 repeated) of Law No. (24) Years 2002 on Retirement and Pension and its amendments, the Qatari employee/ worker may request for nominal service period purchase (un-actual service period) added to the actual service period, to achieve the following:
- Have a pension by completing the minimum service period to be entitled to a pension (15 years).
- Increase the pension.
Nominal Service Period Purchase Terms:
- Work to an employer covered by the Law at the date of the purchase request.
- Should be at the date of purchase not less than (50 years-old) for males and (45 years- old) for females.
- Should have an actual service period registered on GRSIA that is not less than (10 years).
- Pay the due contributions for purchase period of (15%) fifteen percent of the salary at the date of request, either as a lump sum or monthly installments within (5) five years.
Required Documents to Purchase Nominal Service Period:
- Purchase Request (the approved forms).
- A copy of the ID Card.
- Documents of paying the purchase amounts (submitted after informing the contributor of the purchase amounts).
The maximum period to complete the transaction:
- Calculate the purchase amounts and inform the contributor: 3 days.
- Procedures of Purchasing a Nominal Period after paying the due amounts: 3days.
- In the event of the absence of one or more condition of purchase, uncompleted documents, or wrong details, a letter is sent to the contributor within 2 days.
