Military Scheme

​Law No. (13) Year 2006 was issued on 26/6/2006 for military retirement and pensions to strengthen the social protection scheme in the country by expanding insurance coverage in order to provide a decent life for Qatari citizens and their families in a very important sector. The law defines the covered categories as the military Qatari  who works in the Ministries of Defense and the Interior, the State Security Service, the Military Intelligence, the Internal Security Force or any other military or security force. Considering that the provisions of Law No. (24) of 2002 on the civil labor sector retirement and pensions that are referred to in all cases not provided in the Military Law.
The Executive Regulation of Law No. (13) for the year 2006 regarding the retirement and pensions of the military has been issued upon the Council of Ministers' Resolution No. (2) of 2010 issued on 20/1/2010.

Contributions:

Monthly contributions provided in the Law are paid for 20 years of service period as the following:

  • Every military contributor has a monthly contribution equals 15% of the contribution salary (Basic salary +social allowance).
  • The contributor is responsible for 5% of the contribution salary.
  • The employer is responsible for 10% of the contribution salary.

Contributions arears fees:

  • Employer has to pay the monthly contribution without exceeding the fifth day of the next month of the date due.

  • A delay fine is imposed of (2%) two percent per month of arrears amounts paid for the period from the due date of ​payment up to the actual payment date.

Military Fund:​​

Military Pension Fund follows the authority to which contributions provided in this Law and any other amounts allocated to it in the state budget, are paid.

The GRSIA shall take required actions to collect the financial resources of the Fund, and shall have the fund's management, supervision and investment right, and spends them on pensions and other financial rights determined in accordance the resolutions of the Military Retirement Committee.​​​​
